Sparrows of Splendor is an initiative that focuses on
transforming the lives of widows and marginalized young
women. Currently, these women are being trained in
tailoring and design. The long term vision of the Sparrows
of Splendor is to give training in varied vocational skills,
so that they can earn a livelihood and not lead
marginalized lives.
Each ‘Sparrows of Splendor’ product sold directly impacts the rural weavers and the widows of India.
The materials and design of indigenous fabrics like Pochampalli,
Mangalagiri, Kalamkari, Batik, etc. are sourced from the India’s rural cluster of weavers. The looms have been producing these exclusive designs for years and the intrinsic art form is passed down from generation to
generations. They use vegetable dyes and traditional weaving methods which give the fabric that highly sort after texture and grandeur.
